COVID-19 update: Due to coronavirus and the current social distancing measures in place, all of our antenatal classes are taking place on Zoom. But just because we have to social distance, doesn’t mean we aren’t still social! We’ve adapted the programme to make sure you have plenty of time to get to know the other parents-to-be in your group – as well as keeping the classes interactive, with lots of time to ask questions. Check out our FAQs page for more information.
Bishopston Sep-Oct 2020 due dates
2 July @ 19:00 - 13 August @ 21:00£295
If your baby is due in either September or October 2020, this is a great place to meet other new parents expecting their babies at the same time as you. Each class runs with between 5-10 couples, helping you to build a strong social group before your baby arrives.
**COVID-19 changes: Due to the current social distancing rules New Life will be running this course on Zoom. The programme has been adapted to ensure it remains fully interactive with plenty of social time. These changes will remain in place until Government advice allows otherwise.**
Our antenatal class programme is taught over seven consecutive Thursday evenings from 19.00 – 21.00.
- 2nd July
- 9th July
- 16th July
- 23rd July
- 30th July
- 6th August
- 13th August
- 20th August Baby First Aid (optional £20 per person)
If you can’t make any of these dates, get in touch and we will try to find an alternative session in one of our other classes – we try to be as flexible as possible so you don’t have to worry about missing any content!
- The classes will still be taught LIVE by one of our midwives
- You will be able to SEE and CHAT to other members of your group during the classes
- Enjoy small group discussions and social get-togethers in our virtual breakout rooms
- Sessions will be recorded for your group (only) to access at a later date – if you miss a session for any reason.
The virtual meeting room will open at 6.30pm for a 30 minutes socialising with your group. Teaching will run from 7pm – 9pm. The meeting rooms will remain open after class for as long as you and the others in your group wish to hang out and chat.
We have also started organising small in-person meet-ups for our antenatal groups so you can get to know each other socially outside of the classes. These will be in keeping with the current government guidance:
- No more than six people
- Keeping 2m distance between households
“Despite current circumstances, we cannot recommend and praise Iona and the New Life team enough! The classes have run as normal via Zoom and have worked brilliantly, ensuring we all have time to get to know the other couples via breakout rooms whilst gaining all the knowledge and learning promised. We would highly recommend New Life to all parents-to-be and can assure you unlimited to support for the adventure of parenting!! ” Alessia & Davide
Unless Government advice recommends differently, the course reunion will take place on Saturday 12th December from 11.00-13.00, giving you time to settle into family life!
Your birth partner
Your ticket includes a place for your partner. As we think both of you should ideally attend the classes together. We have a lot of content for partners (mums and dads) and birth partners as they play such an important role! If you’re a single parent, we recommend you bring a friend or relative to the class. Or you might like to mix and match, thinking about who will be supporting you in labour and the early postnatal period.
New Life classes are taught by midwives. They are a fantastic resource to have at your fingertips! We encourage all our couples to ask them any questions whether in class, or between sessions via the private WhatsApp group or by email if it’s more personal. Plus, they’re available right up to the reunion with your babies!
You will also receive access to a digital teaching platform with materials to download for class, videos and extra reading links on the topics covered in each session. Plus, all our classes customers get a 10% discount in our online shop – newlife.style.
